Arrhythmia in women
Oftentimes when we’re frightened or surprised, it feels like our heart skips a beat. But for people with a condition known as arrhythmia, this really does happen. An arrhythmia is any disorder of your heart rate or rhythm – this means that your heart beats too quickly, too slowly or with an irregular pattern. While not all arrhythmias are serious, some may be life-threatening and require treatment. Dr. Brian Sarter, the medical director of heart and vascular interventional services with Christiana Care’s Center for Heart & Vascular Health, discusses the risks and treatment of arrhythmia.
