Nearly one in three babies in the U.S. is delivered by cesarean, making it the most common surgical procedure in the country. While cesarean birth – also known as a c-section – is often medically necessary, the rising rate of c-sections in this country has some health professionals concerned. Dr. Gordon Ostrum, deputy chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology for Christiana Care Health System, discusses the growing rate of cesarean births in the U.S.
